4 methods to ensure the accuracy of injection molding mold assembly

1. Interchangeable assembly method

The interchange assembly method is a method in the assembly process that can still meet the assembly accuracy requirements after the same kinds of parts are interchanged. The essence is to control the machining error of the parts to ensure the assembly accuracy of the product.


According to the degree of exchange of parts, it can be divided into complete interchange assembly method and incomplete interchange assembly method. The use of the complete interchange method for assembly can make the assembly process simple, high productivity, easy to organize flow operations and automated assembly, and it is also easy to organize specialized/industrial production in a collaborative manner. As long as it can meet the economic precision requirements of parts processing, no matter what kind of production type, we should first consider adopting the complete interchange method assembly. However, when the assembly accuracy requirements are high, then under the condition of larger batch production, the incomplete interchange method can be considered for assembly.


2. Repair and assembly method

The repair and assembly method refers to the assembly method in which the components in the assembly dimension chain are processed and manufactured according to economic precision. When assembling, the reserved repair amount of the specified parts is repaired according to the requirements to ensure the assembly accuracy.


In single-piece small batch or batch production, when the assembly accuracy is high and the number of components of the assembly dimension chain is large, the repair method is often used to ensure the assembly accuracy requirements.


3. Choose the assembly method

The selective assembly method is to enlarge the tolerances of the components of the dimensional chain to an economically feasible degree for processing, and then select the appropriate parts for assembly to ensure the assembly accuracy required by the assembly method. There are three different forms: direct matching method, group assembly method and compound matching method.


Under mass or batch production conditions, when the assembly accuracy is very high and the number of rings is small, the optional method of assembly can be considered.


4. Adjust the assembly method

The adjustment assembly method refers to the method of processing and manufacturing each component ring in the dimensional chain according to economic precision. During assembly, the relative position of the adjustable parts in the mold is changed or the appropriate adjustment parts are selected to achieve the assembly accuracy.


The adjustment method and the repair method are similar in principle, but the specific methods are different. The adjustment method can be divided into three types: movable adjustment method, fixed adjustment method and error offset adjustment method.
